Maxim is a Dutch/English, London based graphic/visual communication designer focusing on neo-social and political issues through advertising, graphic campaigns, and set design: commenting on current social, political, ecological affairs. Highlighting mainly LGBTQ+ issues.
His research is crucial to his practice and he finds a pattern within his work by switching between raw graphic communication and physical design, essentially enjoying physically crafting something with his hands as well as planning the logistics that accompany that. There is a level of rawness, honesty, and alternative perspectives added into the work, relatable to the viewer and factoring in multiple perceptions at every stage.
Whilst originally from Glastonbury, his influences are varied, having studied art history, and fine art before graphic design communication, References show as crucial to his practice and display throughout the work. Thriving on his knowledge of not only art and graphic history but also historical and iconic campaigns.
